GRAND TURK, B.W.I. (April 8, 2008) – Grand Turk Cruise Center, one of the Caribbean’s newest cruise destinations, has announced an increase in both the number of ship calls as well as the opening of additional retail stores in 2008. In addition to vendors selling local crafts and souvenirs, the facility also features such recognizable names as Margaritaville, Little Switzerland, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Bruno Fine Art, Goodmark Jewelers and the cruise center’s anchor retail tenant, duty-free giant, Dufry. Officials at the Grand Turk Cruise Center expect more than 200 cruise ship calls accounting for 400,000 passengers in 2008, up from 180 calls and 380,000 passengers last year.

Carnival Cruise Lines has added a new eight-day eastern Caribbean cruise option from New York aboard the 2,124-passenger Carnival Miracle featuring  port calls to Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos; the private island of Half Moon Cay; and Nassau, The Bahamas. Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) has announced a voluntary refund of the company’s fuel supplement for applicable U.S. bookings that were made prior to November 7, 2007, under an agreement with the Florida Attorney General’s Office. The fuel supplement, announced November 7, 2007, was applied to all U.S. bookings for voyages departing on or after February 1, 2008, regardless of when the booking was made, for cruises on the Carnival Corporation & plc brands Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and The Yachts of Seabourn.  However, this effective date allowed guests already booked at the time of the announcement the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund.

Eight Different Three-Day Voyages Offered Aboard ‘Fun Ship’ Carnival Paradise from Long Beach Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, and Whodunit Productions, the leading organizer of mystery cruises at sea, have teamed up for a series of “Whodunit Cruises” aboard the 2,052-passenger “Fun Ship” Carnival Paradise from Long Beach, Calif., in 2008 and 2009.
