Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, Carnival Panorama, successfully completed its sea trials in the Adriatic Sea earlier this week in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Long Beach, Calif., Dec. 11, 2019, becoming the line’s first new ship on the West Coast in 20 years. Carnival Cruise Line was named ‘Top Cruise Line in Hawaii’ in Cruise Critic’s annual Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards, taking top honors in the large ship category for the second consecutive year. Carnival Cruise Line will operate its largest Bermuda season ever in 2019-2020, with more than 40 voyages visiting the nation, including eight week-long cruises departing from Baltimore and Charleston next year. In total, six different Carnival ships – Carnival Breeze, Magic, Pride, Radiance, Sunshine and Sunrise – will offer four- to nine-day Bermuda cruises from five homeports along the eastern seaboard between now and next year. Carnival is the only cruise operator to offer round-trip Bermuda cruises from Charleston, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. Today, Carnival Cruise Line announced it is the first large-scale cruise operator to partner with Clean the World. Through this global sustainability program, nearly 40 tons of discarded soap will be collected each year to be recycled into new soap bars and distributed to vulnerable communities worldwide. Clean the World is a global health leader in WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) and sustainability dedicated to saving lives by recycling and distributing soap and other hygiene products to more than 127 countries. As part of the program, Carnival will start collecting discarded soap from guest and crew staterooms throughout the fleet and send it to a Clean the World recycling center where the soap will be sanitized, melted down and reprocessed.…

Carnival Cruise Line announced today that Netherlands-based Boskalis, a worldwide leader in marine solutions, will deploy a transport vessel as a first of its kind “floating dry dock” facility to complete the repairs to Carnival Vista’s two azipods, the ship’s main propulsion system. Carnival Vista Dry Dock Update

Carnival Cruise Line shared some additional information today on the dry dock scheduled next month for Carnival Vista to complete a repair to the ship’s azipods.  As previously announced, Carnival Vista will be taken out of service on July 9, at which time it will transit to Freeport, Bahamas.  Carnival is working with ABB, the azipod manufacturer, to complete the repairs and return the ship to scheduled service on July 27.  Carnival is completing negotiations and planning with a shipping vessel operator on a protocol that will be a first-of-its-kind procedure to facilitate the repair, given the current lack of facilities at Grand Bahama Shipyard.  More information on that procedure will be forthcoming, but plans are in place to complete…

A traditional maritime plaque exchange was held aboard Carnival Sunrise commemorating the ship’s inaugural call at Tortola, B.V.I., which is featured on the ship’s eight-day cruises from New York.  Captain Isidoro Renda is pictured with island officials during the ceremony held in the Carnival Sunrise’s Limelight Lounge.  Carnival Sunrise launched its inaugural season from New York last month following a $200 million dry dock that added all of the line’s popular food, beverage and entertainment options. Carnival Sunrise will operate a summer schedule of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean voyages from New York before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale for four- and five-day cruises beginning in October.

Carnival Cruise Line unveiled several exciting new food and beverage concepts aboard its highly anticipated Mardi Gras, set to debut in 2020, along with further details on the extensive offerings available within the ship’s Lido and Summer Landing zones.
