Carnival Cruise Line
Neil Palomba is executive vice president and chief operations officer for Carnival Cruise Line, having been named to that role in July 2020. He oversees all hotel operations, guest services, guest commerce and guest care for the world’s largest cruise line that annually serves nearly 6 million guests and sails from more homeports than any other operator in the U.S.
Prior to joining Carnival, Neil served as president of Carnival’s sister line, Italian-based Costa Cruises, Europe’s leading cruise operator, overseeing all aspects of the brand, including strategy, product design, guest care, sales, marketing, revenue management and fleet deployment, among others.
Under his leadership, Costa Cruises introduced its “Italy’s Finest” brand positioning, debuted a number of guest and onboard experience innovations, and launched Costa Smeralda, the line’s first cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). Prior to becoming president of Costa Cruises, Neil served as the brand’s senior vice president, hotel operations and guest experience.
Neil’s extensive cruise industry experience also includes executive positions with MSC, and he served as Chairman of the Ports and Infrastructure Sub-Committee of European Cruise Council, representing the main European cruise lines (now CLIA Europe).
Neil holds certifications in leadership from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne and the London Business School, advanced certification in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and studied Strategy & Competitive Advantage at Harvard University.
