As part of his ongoing “Whatever We’re Going to Call These” video series featuring funny – and sometimes awkward – interviews with Carnival executives, Brand Ambassador John Heald took the opportunity to interview Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison during a recent visit to the company’s Miami headquarters. Heald talked to Arison on topics ranging from his thoughts on the upcoming Carnival Vista to his role as managing general partner of the Miami HEAT.  The interview can be viewed here. Construction Continues on Carnival Vista in Preparation for Spring 2016 Debut

  Carnival Vista has now moved to the wet dock at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy where construction continues in anticipation of the ship’s spring 2016 debut. In today’s photo montage, prefabricated staterooms are being installed throughout the 133,500-ton vessel, the largest and most innovative Carnival ship ever constructed.  In total, Carnival Vista will house 1,968 staterooms in a wide range of accommodation categories, from balcony staterooms to spa cabins to deluxe ocean view accommodations featuring two bathrooms and five berths – perfect for families. Carnival’s Brand Ambassador John Heald is at it again!   Known for his off-the-wall, irreverent style of humor, Heald has created a series of videos on Carnival’s Facebook page featuring candid – and hilarious — interviews with company executives. During the first installment of “Whatever We’re Gonna Call These,” Heald chats with Carnival’s Executive Vice President of Guest Shipboard Operations Gus Antorcha about the line’s newest ship, Carnival Vista, set to debut in spring 2016.   The new “Behind the Scenes: Carnival Vista” video series continues with the second episode venturing below deck to showcase the line’s largest and most innovative ship which is set to debut from Europe May 1, 2016. In the video, entitled “Below the Waterline,” host Peter Gonzalez heads to the Fincantieri shipyard to interview Carnival Vista’s Chief Engineer Cesare Boldrini who talks about the groundbreaking technology incorporated into the 133,500-ton vessel – 85 percent of which has never been employed before on a Carnival ship.   Brownie Buoy has been selected as the newest flavor that will be served at Carnival Vista’s Cherry On Top, a sweets shop featuring the line’s first premium mixed-to-order ice cream venue. The flavor was selected by patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® during an ice cream party held at the hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  During the party, the kids were asked to sample three ice cream flavors that were previously selected by Carnival’s Facebook fans as part of a fun social media contest sponsored by the line. Brownie Buoy – made with sweet cream ice cream, brownie bits, fudge and caramel – received the most votes and will be among the many treats served at Cherry on Top…

  In a time-honored maritime tradition, a ceremony was held earlier today aboard Carnival Vista at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, during which a commemorative coin was welded to the ship’s mast to mark a significant construction milestone. The 133,500-ton Carnival Vista – the line’s newest, largest and most innovative ship – is set to debut in Europe May 1, 2016. The coin ceremony – which dates back to the ancient Romans who believed that attaching coins to a ship provided divine protection – signifies the successful completion of Carnival Vista’s exterior outfitting.   Carnival Cruise Line is taking a fun and engaging approach to showcase the construction of its newest “Fun Ship,” Carnival Vista, creating a series of monthly behind-the-scenes videos shot at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, where the 3,954-passenger vessel is being built. Host Peter Gonzalez – who has traveled to 30 countries to create videos showcasing the “Fun Ship” fleet – takes viewers on his 5,132-mile journey from Miami to Monfalcone, Italy, to document Carnival Vista’s 26-month construction.   Carnival is hosting a fun social media promotion designed to help select a new ice cream flavor served at the Cherry On Top confection store aboard Carnival Vista while benefiting the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the line’s primary charitable partner. The promotion runs through Friday, June 19, and asks the line’s Facebook fans to “like” their favorite selection among six delicious Carnival-themed choices – Banana Fudge Funnel, Berries Ahoy, Brownie Buoy, Captain Fudge, Co-Co Caribbean and Tropical Sunset Sundae.
