Guests sailing on Carnival Sunshine’s Caribbean departures from New Orleans can now enjoy freshly made, hand-rolled sushi, sashimi and other Asian delights at Bonsai Sushi, which recently opened on the totally transformed vessel.

Tucked away on Mezzanine Deck 4, Bonsai Sushi offers a wide variety of menu items available a la carte, with prices ranging from $1 for appetizer-sized portions to $15 for a sushi “ship” for two, all enjoyed amidst stunning Asian-inspired interiors.

Bonsai Sushi was the last component of the extensive makeover that incorporated all of the line’s Fun Ship 2.0 dining, bar and entertainment innovations.  The new venue is just one of several exciting dining options aboard Carnival Sunshine, which also features a classic American steakhouse, Fahrenheit 555, the BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery, a new full-service restaurant called Ji Ji Asian Kitchen, and Guy’s Burger Joint, developed in tandem with Food Network star Guy Fieri.

Carnival Sunshine launched a winter schedule of week-long voyages from New Orleans this week and will reposition to Port Canaveral, Fla., in April 2014 for year-round five- to eight-day departures.  The larger Carnival Dream will replace Carnival Sunshine in New Orleans.
