U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Get Unique Behind-the-Bridge Tour Aboard Carnival Liberty in Port Canaveral

In its ongoing effort to guide and educate those interested in the maritime field, Carnival Cruise Line welcomed a group of 40 U.S. Naval Sea Cadets for a day of exploration and education aboard Carnival Liberty while it was docked at Port Canaveral, Fla. earlier this month.

The day was a deep dive into the inner workings of how a cruise ship operates, from a personal tour of the navigation bridge by Captain Carmelo Marino to a behind-the-scenes look at the various onboard spaces and even at the embarkation and debarkation processes. The tours were led by Hotel Director Stig Lorentzen and Guest Services Manager David William Peter Johnson who also held an informative question and answer session for the young mariners.

“We are always looking to educate and inspire the next generation of maritime professionals,” said Lorentzen. “So it’s an honor to be a part of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets’ training and to show these fine young men and women a different side of the exciting maritime industry.”
